1. Call recording and consent
Laws on recording calls differ by country and state. Before turning recording on, you must make sure it's lawful where you and the people you call are. In particular:
- Tell the people your team calls that calls may be recorded — for example at the start of the call or in your privacy notice — and get consent where the law requires it.
- Tell your employees which phones, SIMs and calls are monitored, and why.
- Use recordings only for legitimate purposes such as quality, training, dispute resolution and record-keeping.
- Switch recording off for teams or regions where you can't meet these conditions.
2. Telemarketing rules
If you make promotional calls, follow the rules that apply to you — in India, TRAI's Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, including the National Do Not Call (DND) registry and registration requirements for telemarketers. Don't use CallBix to call people who have asked not to be contacted.
3. Not allowed
- Harassment, threats, fraud, impersonation or deceptive calls.
- Recording or monitoring anyone in breach of the law, or someone's personal phone without their knowledge.
- Uploading or storing unlawful content, or personal data you have no right to process.
- Sending notifications or messages that are spam, misleading, or not related to your business.
- Trying to break, overload or probe the security of CallBix, other than through our vulnerability reporting process.
- Reverse-engineering the app or service, scraping it, or sharing accounts and API keys outside your organisation.
- Reselling CallBix without a written agreement with us.
4. API and automations
Use the API within reasonable rates and only for your own workspace. Keep keys secret and revoke any that leak. We may rate-limit or disable keys that harm the service or other customers.
