Install CallBix in 4 easy steps

Why isn't it on the Play Store?
Google only allows phone-dialer apps to read the call log on the Play Store. Business call trackers like CallBix are installed directly, which is why your phone asks you to confirm. It's safe when you download it from callbix.app.The pictures show a typical Android phone. Your screens may look a little different (colours, wording, button places) depending on the brand. The steps are the same.
Download the app
Tap the download button. If Chrome warns you, tap Download anyway.

Missed the Open button? Open your phone's Files app, go to Downloads and tap the CallBix file.

Only the first time. Your phone asks if Chrome may install apps. Say yes, then tap Install.

Closed the message by mistake? Find the switch here on your phone:

Still can't find it? Open Settings and type unknown in the search bar at the top.
If Google Play Protect warns you
Only if you see this
Play Protect checks apps that don't come from the Play Store. Tap More details, then Install anyway.

No "Install anyway" button?
Some newer phones block it completely. Pause Play Protect for a minute:
- Open the Play Store app → tap your profile picture (top right) → Play Protect → the ⚙ gear (top right).
- Turn off Scan apps with Play Protect. On Samsung, also turn off Auto Blocker.
- Go back to step 1 and install CallBix.
- Turn scanning back on straight away. CallBix keeps working with it on.
Only install CallBix from callbix.app or from your company's IT team. The real app's name in settings is logger.callbix.app.
Open, sign in and allow
Open the app, sign in, and tap Allow on every question it asks.

To find your phone's call recordings, if your company uses them.
Display over other apps
So the notes screen pops up the moment a call ends.
Using the CallBix recorder on Android 13 or later? If you see "Restricted setting": open App info for CallBix → ⋮ (top right) → Allow restricted settings, then turn the recorder on again.
Keep it running, then test
Recommended
Phones close apps to save battery. Tell yours to leave CallBix alone, then make a test call.

Extra switch on some brands
- Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO: turn on Autostart in App info.
- Oppo, Realme, Vivo: allow Background activity / Auto launch in App info.
- Samsung: remove CallBix from Sleeping apps in Battery → Background usage limits.
That's it. You never have to do this again. Updates install over the top.
Updating
Download the latest version from this page and install it over the old one. You stay signed in and nothing is lost. Your manager can see each phone's app version on the Phones page.
Troubleshooting
- “App not installed”
- An older build signed differently is on the phone (for example a test version). Uninstall it, then install again. Also check you have at least 200 MB free.
- “There was a problem parsing the package”
- The download didn't finish, or the phone runs Android 7 or older. Download again over Wi-Fi; CallBix needs Android 8 or later.
- Nothing happens when I tap the file
- Open your phone's Files / Downloads app and tap the CallBix APK there.
- Calls aren't showing up
- Check the Call logs and Phone permissions, and battery set to Unrestricted. Your manager's Phones page also shows exactly what's missing.
- No recordings
- Turn on automatic call recording in the phone's own dialer settings, and allow audio-file access. On phones without a recorder, switch to the CallBix recorder in Settings.
