CallBix for Chrome
Click any phone number on a web page and call it from your own phone in seconds — with the number's past calls in front of you first.
What you get
- A small CallBix button after every phone number and
tel:link on the pages you visit — your CRM, Gmail, IndiaMART, JustDial, a spreadsheet in the browser. - Click it to see the number's past calls with your team (the ones your role lets you see), the last outcome and notes, and any open follow-up.
- Call on my phone sends the number to your phone with a Call button. How fast you called is tracked like any call request.
- Select a number and right-click → Call “…” from my phone, or open the toolbar popup (
Alt+Shift+C) and type one.
Install
- Open the Chrome Web Store listing and press Add to Chrome.
- Click the puzzle icon in the toolbar and pin CallBix.
Each person signs in with their own CallBix email and password, or with a code sent to their email. They see only the calls their role allows — exactly as in the web app. Signing in from the browser doesn't use one of your plan's phone slots.
The CallBix app must be signed in on your Android phone: that's where the call is made. The extension tells you if it isn't.
Calling a number
- Click the CallBix button next to the number.
- Check the past calls, add a name if you like, and press Call on my phone.
- Your phone shows a CallBix notification — tap Call. The after-call form, recording and CRM sync work as for every call.
The agent's phone also shows which page the number came from (its title and address), so the context isn't lost. The popup lists what you've sent lately; an open request can be cancelled there.
Sending to teammates
People with the Send notifications to the team's phones permission (owners, admins and managers by default) can send a number to someone else instead:
| Choice | Who calls |
|---|---|
| A person | That person's phone gets the Call now alert. People without a phone signed in can't be picked. |
| A team, in turn | Whoever in the team has the fewest open requests. |
| Our usual rule | Your workspace's routing (Integrations → Zoho CRM extension → Who gets calls): everyone in turn, one team or one person. |
Turning it off on a site
Open the toolbar popup and switch off Call buttons next to numbers on … for the site you're on. To turn buttons off everywhere, or back on for a site, open the extension's Settings. Right-click calling and the popup keep working either way.
Privacy
- Numbers are found on the page by your browser. Nothing about the page is sent anywhere until you click a CallBix button or menu item.
- When you do, CallBix receives the number, the name you typed, and the title and address of the page — to show the agent where it came from.
- Your sign-in is kept in the extension's own storage and never shared with the pages you visit. Signing out ends the session. Admins can see sign-ins in the audit log.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| “Sign in to the CallBix app on your phone first” | Open the CallBix app on your Android phone and sign in with the same account. |
| No buttons next to numbers | Check the site isn't switched off in the popup. Pages opened before installing need a reload. |
| “CallBix was updated — reload this page” | The extension was updated or reloaded while the page was open. Reload the page. |
| The phone doesn't ring | The notification needs the CallBix app's notifications allowed. You'll find the request in the app's notification list too. |
| “You can send numbers to your own phone only” | Your role can't send to others. Ask an admin for the “Send notifications” permission. |
Questions
- Does the call go out from my computer?
- No. CallBix sends the number to your phone, which shows a notification with a Call button. The call uses your SIM, so it's logged, recorded and synced like any other.
- Does it work in Edge or Brave?
- Yes. Both run Chrome extensions: install it the same way from edge://extensions or brave://extensions.
- Does signing in use one of our phone slots?
- No. The browser doesn't count as a phone; only phones with the CallBix app do.
- Who can send numbers to other people?
- Anyone whose role can send notifications — owners, admins and managers by default. Everyone else sends numbers to their own phone.
